How To Page
To post any category of article direct to Sapphire Coast News you must be registered and logged in.
- Register and login in the Meta box at the bottom of the sidebar.
- You’ll need an e-mail address to register. Your e-mail address will not be published or distributed to any third party.
- Both the Login process and clicking the Site Admin link in the Meta box will take you straight to the Admin Page, where you can make your post.
- Unless you’re an advanced user, use the visual screen.
- You can’t upload photos to Sapphire Coast News while holding Contributer status.
- If you upload photos to Flickr or upload a video to YouTube, you can link to them.
- You can e-mail a photo to Sapphire Coast News using the Submit News form. The editor will insert it in your article. Be sure to give clear guidance as to what article and user name the photo belongs to.
- When you have established yourself as a reliable contributer, (about half a dozen suitable articles), you can apply to have your status reviewed, removing the above restrictions.
- You can submit your article using the Submit News form. This method does not require an e-mail address, does not provide instant publication to the web and requires manual submission by the editor.
- To go from the Admin Page to the normal Site View, click View Site, near the heading at the top of the page.
To submit any category of article using the Submit News form, click the Submit News link, write your article, fill in the required information and send. Your e-mail address will not be published or distributed to any third party.
Suitable article format
- If you are using the Submit News form, in the subject box put the catagory. See below.
- If you’re logged in and using the system, be sure to tick one category box.
- Your article should be news worthy to some sector of the community.
- All submissions should comply with legal and reasonable moral standards.
- By submitting your news and photo, you give Sapphire Coast News the right to use them in Sapphire Coast News. Sapphire Coast News is syndicated via RSS.
- Compose your article in the following form:
- Headline.
- Date.
- Author.
- Body of the article.
- Photo caption and credit. (if sending a photo via the Submit News form)
- A photo will enhance your news story. If possible, resize to 350px. wide, and save it as 85% quality .jpg. Attach it to your submission or instruction note, using the attachment box.
- If you can’t manage to resize your photo, send it as it is.
- Mobile phone photos will be fine.
Article Categories
Post a comment on an article in any category
- Go to the comment box at the bottom of the page on which the article appears.
- Log in with your name and other information. Your e-mail address will not be published or distributed to any third party.
- Type your comment into the comment box and submit.
- All comments should comply with legal and reasonable moral standards.
- Address the issues. Take the point further or put a differing, positive viewpoint.
- It’s quite OK to disagree, but it’s not OK to attack a previous author.
Copyright
- You retain the copyright to any material submitted to Sapphire Coast News.
- By submitting material to Sapphire Coast News, you give Sapphire Coast News the right to use it on the website.
- You must not copy and submit material from other sources unless permission is given by the copyright owner.
- The main news media in the Bega Valley forbid copying their material.
