News - Bega Merimbula Eden Bermagui Tathra Pambula

The Federal Member for Eden Monaro, Mike Kelly, and the State Member for Bega, Andrew Constance, will be among the official guests at the Australia Day ceremony in Bega on January 26, 2010.

Bega Valley Shire Council Mayor Tony Allen said both MPs had confirmed their attendance at the ceremony in Littleton Gardens.

Cr Allen said he was also pleased that there would be nine Shire residents becoming Australian citizens at the ceremony.

“This is shaping up to be an excellent Australia Day in Bega,” he said.

“We have excellent Bega Valley Shire Citizen and Junior Citizen of the Year and a truly inspirational Australia Day Ambassador lined up.

“The Lions will provide Breakfast in the Park and the organising committee has arranged lots of entertainment before and after the official ceremony.”

Cr Allen urged residents to attend the Australia Day ceremony in Littleton Gardens before heading off to celebrate our national day with family and friends.
