A newly- formed book club is providing much enjoyment for people in the Eden community.
Eden resident Lindy McMahon sought help from Eden Library in establishing a book club and was put in touch with staff member, Tanya Apps, who helped her worked out the logistics.
Notices were posted at the library inviting expressions of interest. From the enthusiastic response was born the Port of Eden Book Club.
There are 12 members, with a waiting list, and they meet on the third Thursday morning of the month.
“They are all reading and discussing a variety of interesting, thought-provoking, member-chosen books,” Ms Apps said.
“Reading material is supplied via the Centre of Adult Education and this has been a very smooth and well-received transaction.”
“Lindy is keen to hearing from any residents of Eden and surrounding areas who are interested in forming a variety of smaller sub-groups for evening meetings.
“These could include an Evening Book Club, Theatre/Movie Group (which is underway and members are welcome) or a Reciprocal Bartering Group.
“People of either gender, singles or couples are welcome.”
