Upgraded Mogareeka Boat Ramp Proves Popular

November 29, 2007: Boat owners have given the thumbs up to restoration works carried out at the Mogareeka boat ramp.

Upgraded Mogareeka boat ramp
Popular spot. Boaties were out early to use the upgraded Mogareeka boat ramp.

Council’s Civil Assets and Urban Projects Co-ordinator Dave Mitchell was up at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning to gauge the reaction of boat owners to the new work which saw Council’s contractors repair a scoured section of the ramp.

“The work was completed in a day and it was only a matter of letting the concrete cure for some 24 hours and the ramp was back in action,” Mr Mitchell said.

“The work was needed because of the popularity of the area and the fact the ramp had been scoured out over the years by the action of outboard motors from people driving onto their trailers.

“This latest upgrade, as well as the installation of the new floating jetty and the construction of stairs to the beach, will greatly improve the amenity of the very popular family area.”
