Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, ACT, Alpine areas of the South West Slopes, and higher parts of the South Coast and Illawarra districts.

Synoptic Situation: 3:00 pm EST Friday
A high pressure ridge extends over northern NSW, while a deep low is expected to pass south of Tasmania over the next couple of days. A vigorous west to northwest airstream over southeastern NSW.
Winds are likely continue to average over 63 km/h at times tonight and Saturday with gusts over 90 km/h. Winds averaging over 80 km/hr with gusts in excess of 125 km/h are likely above 1900 metres.
The National Parks and Wildlife Service recommends that people consider postponing back country travel until conditions improve.
Keep clear of fallen trees and powerlines.
