Wanda on Wheels to tour the south east over summer
Friday, 30 November 2007
Watch out this summer for the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service’s (NPWS) new mobile trailer “Wanda on Wheels”.
This brightly coloured travelling trailer will be in the region during the Christmas holidays delivering fun and games to thousands of holiday makers and locals.
NPWS Discovery Coordinator Barbara Allgaier said the trailer has been developed by the local National Parks and Wildlife Service at Merimbula.
“National Parks Discovery staff look forward to seeing many people at ‘Wanda’, where they will be able to take part in environmental games, music, craft, spotlighting and story telling.
“An Aboriginal Discovery ranger will be talking about bush foods, art, tools and music.”
Ms Allgaier said the easy-to-identify trailer will be located in national parks and reserves up and down the coast from the border to north of Narooma.
She said she was also looking forward to local caravan park operators, community groups and holiday outlets embracing “Wanda” and becoming a part of the program.
Apart from “Wanda on Wheels” the NPWS will continue its canoeing and snorkelling activities over the holidays.
If you would like more information or to book the van (no fees apply donations only), please contact Barbara Allgaier, Discovery Coordinator DECC – PWG, on 6495 5000 or 1300 361 606.
