Sydney Hobart Yacht Race - Leaders Approach Bermagui

At eight and a half hours into the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race 2007 the leaders of the fleet are approaching Bermagui on the Saspphire Coast. Next comes Tathra followed by Merimbula, Pambula and Eden.

In many past Sydney Hobart Yacht Races, disabled racing yachts have limped into Twofold Bay and the port of Eden ending their quest.

With smooth sailing so far in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race 2007 such mishaps seem to have been avoided, at least to the present position in the yacht race.

The chance of rough weather as they head into a southerly beyond Cape Howe and Gabo Island could spell the end of the race for some.
