Three teenage boys have been arrested after a stolen Toyota Tarago van drove off a cliff top at Bermagui in the state’s south this morning.
About 3.30am, Moruya Police were patrolling within the township, after an earlier unrelated break and enter at a local hotel, when they spotted the Tarago.
Signalling for the van to pull over, it will be alleged the Tarago drove off with police following it.
During the pursuit items from the Tarago, including two children’s car seats, were thrown at the police car.
The pursuit ended when the van reached Lamont Street in Bermagui, driving through a gap in a railing and falling down a ten metre high cliff. The van landed on its roof.
Three of the occupants were arrested and taken to Narooma Police Station where they are assisting with inquiries. One youth received minor scratches.
Inquiries to locate a fourth person, believed to have been in the Tarago, are continuing.
