Tent - Barbeques Galore - Oztrail

27 February 2008
Among the junk mail is the Barbeques Galore catalog featuring tents from Oztrail.

Dome tent
Dome tent by Oztrail from Barbeques Galore, Bega.

At thirty dollars, this small dome tent would be just the thing for a low budget trip or for when space and weight are issues.

Ideally, use a three man tent for two people, leaving some room for the extra gear that needs to be kept out of the weather overnight and so there is room to get into bed without climbing over the sleeping bags.

If it’s windy or if wind is expected overnight, pitch the tent with the rear to the windward if practical.

A flat camping spot won’t always be available. Pitch the tent such that you sleep with your head up hill. If you sleep across the slope it may not be a very refreshing sleep. You’ll be rolling down hill and trying to prevent it, all night.

The Oztrail Promo 3 dome tent is ideal for bushwalking, backpacking and car camping. Great as an extra tent for the kids.
