Wanatta Lane design plans available for comment - Bega Valley

Design plans for the Bega Valley Shire Council’s proposed central waste facility at Wanatta Lane have been submitted to the Department for Environment and Climate Change.

The Department sought the design plans for the landfill in order to review all information relating to the site before considering the conditions that might apply to a landfill licence.

The plans include construction of the landfill cells to contain the waste; collection and treatment of leachate; diversion of stormwater from the landfilling area; and a quality assurance plan.

These plans will be on public display from Wednesday, October 15, to Thursday, November 13, and anyone wishing to review them or make comment can view them at Council offices in Bermagui, Bega, Merimbula and Eden.

The plans will also be available on Council’s website www.begavalley.nsw.gov.au
