Wine, Cheese and Film at Bega Valley Regional Gallery

March 20, 2008

The film “Caravaggio” will be screened at a wine, cheese and film night in the Bega Valley Regional Gallery next Thursday, March 27, 6.30pm.

Caravaggio was the famous Italian Baroque painter, the most outstanding naturalistic painter of the late 16th and early 17th centuries.

This 1986 release by Derek Jarman is a visually overwhelming, broodingly dark and fascinating film examining Caravaggio’s life as told in fragmented flashbacks from his deathbed at only 39 years of age.

It stars Nigel Terry, Sean Bean, Tilda Swinton, Nigel Davenport and Robbie Coltrane.
The film has an MA rating.

Entry to the wine, cheese and film night will be a $10 donation.
